What Is an Empty PNG Maker?

This browser-based tool generates empty PNG images. The generated PNG can have three base shapes and three background fill variations. The three base shapes of the PNG can be square (if the width is set equal to the height), vertical/portrait (if the height is set to be greater than the width), or horizontal/landscape (if the width is set to be greater than the height). The size and dimensions of the PNG can be set in the options in pixels. For example, if you enter 200x200 pixels, you'll get an empty square PNG, if you enter 420x640, you'll get an empty vertical PNG, and if you enter 800x600, you'll get an empty horizontal PNG. The fill color of the PNG can be opaque (with an alpha channel value of 1), translucent semi-transparent (with an alpha channel value greater than 0 but less than 1), or fully transparent (with an alpha channel value of 0). The fill color can be specified in the options using the color's name, hex code, or RGB(A) code. To control the transparency, you can click on the color palette in the options and move the transparency slider left or right. In this example, we create an empty PNG with the orchid color. To do this, we set the PNG's shape to square by specifying the width equal to the height (both equal to 500 pixels).

Empty Vertical Semi-Transparent PNG

In this example, we set the height (600 pixels) of the PNG to be greater than the width (400 pixels) to generate a vertical PNG. We fill it with a semi-transparent lime color and use an alpha channel value of 0.4, which means the image is 40% opaque and 60% transparent.
