What Is a PNG Shifter?

This browser-based utility allows you to shift PNG (Portable Network Graphics) pictures. The program applies the circular shift operation on the picture, which means that the pixels shifted off from one side of a PNG appear on the opposite side. For example, you can shift one-quarter of the width of a PNG to the right. To do this, all you have to do is enter the value "0.25" in the horizontal shift option (which is equal to ¼ – a quarter of the picture). As a result, 25% of a PNG on the right side will be cropped and moved to the left side. To shift a PNG to the left, use a negative shift value. For example, the value of "-0.25" will shift 25% of a PNG on the left side to the right side. Another example is shifting a PNG by a third of the height. To do this, enter the coefficient equal to "0.33" in the vertical shift option. Similarly, to shift a PNG in the opposite direction, use a negative vertical shift coefficient. You can also apply both horizontal and vertical shifts at once and get a mosaic of four parts of a PNG. The program always preserves the dimensions of the picture, so the size of the shifted PNG will be equal to the original PNG. Additionally, you can add a decorative border between the cut parts. For the border, you can specify its color, width, and choose its style. The style can be a solid line, dotted line, dashed line, or a mixed dash-dot line. Png-abulous!

Double Shift

In this example, we simultaneously apply both the vertical and horizontal shifts on a PNG photo of a cat who got a slice of bread stuck on its head. The horizontal shift offsets 0.2 parts of the width and the vertical shift offsets 0.4 parts of the height. Shift a Transparent PNG

In this example, we load a PNG picture of a clock with a transparent background and shift it by half of its width and height. As a result, the clock is cut in four equal squares and the quadrants are rearranged. The 1st quadrant is now 3rd. The 2nd quadrant is now 4th. The 3rd quadrant is now 1st.
