What Is a PNG Stroke Adder?

This browser-based utility adds a stroke to all PNG objects. You can wrap objects in a thin or thick bezel, add extra pixels around logos, and make digital signatures bolder. The program works only with PNGs that have a transparent background. It finds all the pixels in contact with a transparent background and adds a line along the contact points. You can specify the stroke width (in pixels) and color (using the color's name, hex, RGB, or RGBA code) in the options. If you want the outline to be added only to the outer pixels of the objects, you can activate the "Add Only Outer Stroke" option. Also, you can use the "Smooth Stroke" option to enable anti-aliasing and make the pixels around sharp edges semi-transparent and smooth. The program also has a glow effect option that converts a solid stroke that surrounds the object into a semi-transparent stroke that smoothly diffuses in all directions, creating a soft, luminous halo. To make the glow mode look nice, it's recommended to use a larger stroke thickness, for example, 20 pixels or more. Png-abulous!

Add Stroke to a Seagull

In this example, we make Henry Ford's signature a little bit thicker. We load a photo of Ford's signature that's written in black ink on a transparent background into the input and add a 2-pixel black line to the outer edges.
