This browser-based utility allows you to extract color channels from PNG (Portable Network Graphics) pictures. As you may know, in computing and digital systems, images are represented using color systems consisting of several independent color components. For example, the RGB color system, which is the most widely used color scheme in computers and monitors, expresses each color in a picture using a combination of three colors: Red, Green, and Blue. The RGBA model also includes the "A" parameter that is the Alpha channel or transparency of the color. The CMY and CMYK color systems, which are most often used in color printing, use three or four channels: Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, and Key (black). The HSL color system, which is the most modern color system and is often used in color picker tools, uses Hue, Saturation, and Lightness as channels. Hue defines the color. Saturation defines how much color there is. Lightness defines how much white light there is. This online program splits the PNG colors into individual channels and draws a PNG of a single color channel. You can also select multiple color channels in the options and draw and generate several PNGs of different color channels at once. Often, you only need grayscale values of the color channel, so we also added the grayscale mode to all color systems that let you extract a channel using only gray tones. Png-abulous!

In this example, we split a PNG image of a hand in water into individual RGB components and extract the green channel. In the output PNG, the Red and Blue color components are equal to zero so they aren't shown and only the Green channel is drawn using its original pixel values. (Source: Pexels.)
In this example, we simultaneously extract the Red, Green, and Blue channels from a PNG photo of an orange kitten getting some sun. If we blend the pixels of these three channels together, we get the original PNG. When mixed, the brightest pixels give the white color, and mixing other pixels in the correct proportions produce the original colors of the input PNG. (Source: Pexels.)
In this example, we're working with the RGBA color model and we drop the RGB colors from the PNG picture of a crystal ball and separate out only the alpha channel. The alpha channel is responsible for how much transparency there is in a PNG. In the output, fully opaque PNG areas are printed in black, translucent or semi-transparent areas are printed in gray, and areas with zero alpha values remain transparent. (Source: Pexels.)
In this example, we split a PNG file into five different color channels from two different color systems at once. The first three channels show the Cyan, Magenta, and Yellow components from the CMYK system and the next two channels show the Hue and Saturation components from the HSL system. (Source: Pexels.)
In this example, we extract all values from the HSL color system and turn them grayscale. The program first converts RGB values into HSL values, then makes these values grayscale, and then prints them one after another as the resulting new PNG image. (Source: Pexels.)
