This transformation (which is also known as alpha flattening) makes the given PNG fully opaque, eliminating the see-through areas, adds a solid background, and removes the smooth semi-transparent pixels (also known as anti-alised edges) that often appear around PNG object edges, resulting in sharp, clean lines that enhance the visual clarity of the image. This example fills the alpha channel in a PNG image of Margaret Thatcher's signature with white color, converting its transparent background into a uniform white background. In this example, we apply a linear gradient fill to the alpha pixels of a PNG of a hand holding asparagus. We eliminate the transparent pixels around the asparagus, creating a smooth color transition from pale-turquoise on the left to azure on the right side of the PNG. In this example, we enable the radial gradient mode to flatten the alpha channel of a PNG image of a pair of woven bags. We enter three green shades (#839369, #a5b58c, #5b6849) in the gradient-colors option, and when the program runs, it completely covers the transparency in the PNG with these colors. The center of the gradient is set to the middle of the PNG (behind the woven bags) and its radius is set to 500 pixels.
