What Is a JPG to PNG Icon Converter?

This browser-based tool converts JPG icons to PNG icons. Unlike JPG, the PNG format supports transparency and better preserves image quality when compressed. This makes PNG ideal for icons and graphics with sharp edges. Using this tool, you can also remove unwanted backgrounds and make the icon transparent. To do this, activate the checkbox in the options and specify the background color of the input icon that you want to remove. The threshold parameter allows you to adjust the sensitivity of background removal. For example, setting it to 5% or 50% will activate the removal of fewer or more shades of the specified background color. To make the icon on a transparent background look more harmonious, you can make its edges slightly semi-transparent by adjusting the pixel softening radius in the options. Additionally, you can use the option to preserve inner colors, which allows you to keep the original colors inside the icon while removing the background of the same color.
