This browser-based utility creates digital stamps from photos or scanned images of stamps. It also works with seals and badges. The extracted digital stamp has a PNG format with a transparent background, making it suitable for applying on digital documents, certificates, and branded materials. Often, stamps and seals appear on scanned images, making them difficult to reuse and edit. The program finds and extracts the stamp based on its color, so to make this tool work, specify the stamp's color in the options (you can enter color's name or select it via a color pciker). To avoid guessing the stamp's color, you can also quickly select it by clicking on the stamp in the input editor, where you loaded the stamp's image. If the stamp has slight color variations, you can use the color sensitivity parameter to define how closely the tool should match similar shades. Higher shade sensitivity extracts more stamp pixels, while a lower setting makes the selection more precise. After extracting the stamp, you can adjust its style and appearance. First, you can set a new desired background color for the stamp (the default is transparent). Second, you can recolor the stamp color with any new color. Third, you can automatically remove excess space around the extracted stamp by activating the cropping option. Fourth, you can refine the rough pixels around stamp's edges by enabling the pixel smoothing option. This option makes the stamp's edges semi-transparent within the specified depth. This option is also called stamp anti-aliasing. Fifth, you can add an outline to the extracted stamp for better visibility. In this example, we extract the red "CENSORED" stamp from the input image. By specifying the stamp's color (which we determine by clicking on it in the input editor) and setting the color sensitivity parameter to 50%, we isolate the stamp from the original image and save it as a PNG file with a transparent background. In this example, we separate an antique dark gray seal from a sacnned white parchment from an old book. With the color matching threshold of 35%, we extract various faded shades of the seal and convert them into a uniform black color by setting the "new stamp color" option to "black". Additionally, we add anti-aliasing to the extracted seal's edges within a 2-pixel radius for a smoother appearance. (Source: Wikipedia.)
In this example, we upload a postcard containing several variations of postal stamps and extract the one we like the most. We click on the green mail stamp and it instantly gets extracted as a separate PNG image.
