This browser-based utility allows you to extract a color palette from a PNG file. You can upload any PNG picture and the program will find the most popular colors in it and create a color scheme profile that you can download. The color scheme that you get in the output contains color tone data and it can be used in digital graphics work or website designs to match the tones of the PNG. This tool can generate any number of PNG shades (up to the number of colors in the image). There are two palette composition modes that we have implemented. The first one uses the average tones of the PNG. The second one uses the exact colors of the pixels. By choosing the "Show Average Color Tones" mode, you get mixed shades of the dominant colors of the PNG. By choosing the "Show Exact Color Tones" mode, you get the exact color scheme that perfectly matches the pixels of the PNG. By default, the palette colors are organized in order from the most popular color to the least popular color. But you can also change the palette color order and sort the colors in rainbow order (red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, and violet), in reverse rainbow order (violet, indigo, blue, green, yellow, orange, and red), in order by lightness (from the lightest color to darkest), and in order by darkness (from the darkest color to lightest). You can print the names of extracted colors directly on the palette using RGBA or hex format. You can also find the percentage of a given color in the PNG and print it next to the color name. The extracted palette of colors can be downloaded as a separate PNG image from the output field. Additionally, in the options, you can copy the names of all the extracted colors. Png-abulous!

In this example, we create a six-color palette based on colors found in a PNG of hot air balloons during a sunset. We choose the "Average Color Tones" generator mode, which means that the program combines similar colors into groups and generates a palette that conveys the most complete color theme information of the PNG image. This example extracts the 10 most popular colors from a PNG image. It has the "Exact Color Tones" mode active and as a result, each extracted color is exactly the same as in the picture. Besides the palette itself, it also prints the hexadecimal color names and the statistics of color usage (in percent). (Source: Pexels.)
In this example, we create a color scheme for a photo of a conch shell that's placed on a transparent background. We generate the scheme of 7 average PNG color shades. The transparent color, like all others, is included in the extraction and is mixed with other colors, making some of the colors in the output palette semi-transparent. (Source: Pexels.)
In this example, we load a photo of a mountain-top castle surrounded by a forest and extract its color palette with the colors sorted from the darkest color to the lightest color. We find the ten most popular tones and draw them on the screen together with their hex codes. (Source: Pexels.)
In this example, we extract the eight most dominant colors from a canvas painting and sort the hues in rainbow order. We turn on the "Average Color Tones" mode, which allows the program to create clusters of the most popular hues in the painting, which are then sorted in the output. (Source: Pexels.)
