This browser-based tool cleans and enhances the edges of PNG icons. It is designed for icons with transparent backgrounds that, due to being cut out from the original image or background, contain remnants of old pixels on the edges. The program can remove unwanted pixels on the edges, create smooth, semi-transparent fading edges, and delve into narrow areas of the icon to clean edges of unwanted color. To make the edge pixels partially transparent, use the "Icon Edge Refinement" option, where you can specify the depth of pixel translucency. To remove pixels on the edges of the icon, use the "Icon Edge Removal" option, where you can set the transparency depth. To remove pixels in narrow areas within the icon, use the "Precise Edge Cleaning" option, specify the color to be removed, select the color difference range, and set the pixel removal depth. In this example, we use the tool to clean the white edges from a black airplane icon. We set a radius of 2 in the option that makes pixels transparent and a radius of 1 in the option that makes pixels semi-transparent. As a result, the program improves pixels within a 3px radius, thus eliminating remnants of artifacts from removing the white background. (Source: Wikipedia.)
In this example, we get rid of the wide black edge around the purple diamond icon. To achieve this, we fully remove pixels up to a depth of 12px from the edge and smooth the 1px edge of the diamond's edge to improve the overall look of the icon. (Source: Wikipedia.)
In this example, we apply the precise cleaning algorithm to the edges of the french fries icon, which has a dark blue color. We enable cleaning in the options, specify that we need to remove the dark blue color to a depth of up to 40 pixels, and increase the range of blue shades to 80%.
