This browser-based program creates PNG images that are entirely made out of white noise. White noise is also called static noise or snow and in an image, it's represented as a set of pixels (usually black and white) that randomly cover the entire image. White noise can be observed on older TVs and devices when a connection is interrupted. From a mathematical standpoint, white noise is random noise that has a flat spectral density – that is, throughout the entire image the pixels have the same color, shade, and distribution. In our utility, we implemented the Gaussian noise algorithm and you can control the white image properties in the options. The image can have any size – you can specify the necessary width and height in the options (in pixels). You can also adjust the colors that will form the white noise. By default, they are white and black pixels but you can also add gray tones, create brown noise, pink noise, or even noise with transparent and translucent pixels. To use multiple colors or change the default white noise colors, use the color names, hex, RGB, or RGBA codes and specify each color on a new line in the multi-line color option. If you want to use many shades of the same color, but don't want to enter the names of all the shades in the options, you can click the "Activate Noise Tones" option. This mode takes the color list from the options and adds a lighter and darker shade to it. You can adjust the shade density coefficient from 0 (meaning no shading is applied) to 1 (all possible shades for each color are generated). Png-abulous!

In this example, we create a PNG image that emulates white noise on a screen. We configure the screen to have a square shape of 600 by 600 pixels and set each white noise pixel to be 3 by 3 pixels. This way, the entire area of PNG is covered with 40,000 randomly scattered black and white pixels.
This example generates a static noise PNG with large pixelated blocks. The PNG has a horizontal strip shape with dimensions of 480 by 120 pixels and each static pixel has a size of 12 pixels.
In this example, we generate white noise that has transparent and translucent pixels. Since the PNG format supports transparency, in addition to the white and black pixels, we use the "transparent" and "rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.5)" colors. To generate the "rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.5)" color (with alpha channel of 0.5), we used the color palette option and moved the alpha channel slider halfway between 0 and 1, which created 50% transparent pixels.
In this example, we create a three-color Gaussian noise image. We use grayscale tones – that is, white, black, and gray pixel colors and have each color fill a random square block of size 6×6 pixels. The overall size of the grayscale image is 480×480 pixels but there are 80×80 blocks.
In this example, we generate a white noise PNG from just one color. We enter the word "gray" in the color list and enable the "Activate Noise Tones" option. With this option on, the program generates a multitude of gray tones and fills the entire PNG with them. To control the gray tone range, we use the coefficient of 0.4, which means that all gray colors are darkened or lightened by no more than 40% from the original "gray" color.
In this example, we demonstrate that white noise doesn't necessarily mean that all pixels have to be just black and white. Here we have chosen a bunch of other colors to be used in the generator and as they are randomly distributed, they still follow the white noise pattern.
