This browser-based program changes the size of transparent and non-transparent digital signatures that have a PNG extension. It lets you change the size in both directions – you can increase the size of a smaller signature by stretching it or you can decrease the size of a larger signature by squeezing it. Resizing a digital signature is often necessary so that it fits in the signature field of an e-document (such as Word or PDF). With this utility, you can resize a signature proportionally by maintaining its width-to-height ratio or disproportionately by changing the dimensions of just the width or just the height. When a signature is resized proportionally (the "Keep Signature Proportions" option is selected), you can enter just one of the dimension parameters in the options and the second one will be automatically calculated and updated. For example, if you have a signature with dimensions 220×100 pixels and you're keeping the aspect ratio, then if the width is updated to 180 pixels, the height will automatically be set to 81 pixels. With disproportionate resizing, you can change the width and height as you like. For example, if a signature is too wide, you can make it narrower while keeping the height as-is. In this example, we increase the size of Marie Curie's signature. We use the proportional resizing method, where the ratio of the signature's width and height always remains constant. We enter the new width equal to 640 pixels and the program automatically calculates the new height, which is now 208 pixels. (Source: Wikipedia.)
In this example, we load Michael Faraday's signature and fix its width – somehow, when it was scanned it was stretched horizontally. To make it look good and make it fit in the signature field of a PDF document, we need to adjust only its width but leave the height the same. To do this, we turn off the "Keep Signature Proportions" option and update the width option from 640px to 300px. (Source: Wikipedia.)
