What Is a Grayscale Logo Maker?

This browser-based utility creates grayscale versions of logos from colorful PNG logos. It converts the full spectrum of colors in the input logo into variations of gray tones using various conversion methods. The standard and simplest method for converting colors to grayscale is the method of averaging the RGB components. It simply takes the average value of the three RGB (Red, Green, Blue) components for each pixel using the formula "(R + G + B)/3". A more modern method is based on the HDTV standard used in contemporary televisions. It takes into account the peculiarities of human color perception and gives more weight to the green color, using the formula "0.21R + 0.72G + 0.07B". The classic PAL/NTSC method is based on the older television standards PAL and NTSC. It also considers the peculiarities of human color perception but does so slightly differently, using the formula "0.30R + 0.59G + 0.11B". You can choose from these standard grayscale conversion methods or create your own formulas. To do this, activate the custom channel weights mode and specify the multiplier for each color channel. PetroChina Logo with a Fixed Number of Grayscale Shades
