What Is an Icon Color Extractor?

This browser-based tool extracts a color palette from a PNG icon. It analyzes the uploaded PNG and creates a palette consisting of the exact colors or primary shades present in the icon. The result is presented as an image divided into color sectors of the palette. The first step in using the tool is to choose the method of color extraction. The "Extract Exact Icon Hues" option allows you to identify every specific color used in the icon. This is useful when you need to know the exact color of each pixel. Alternatively, the "Extract General Icon Hues" option highlights only the main shades of the icon, grouping similar tones and representing them with an average shade. The next step is to configure the palette size and the order of the colors. Here, you can specify the number of colors in the generated palette and choose the order in which the colors are displayed. Then, you need to select how each color will be represented. In the "Color Representation" section, you can specify how to display the color name. You can choose not to print the color name or display the color in hexadecimal format or in RGBA format. You can also enable the "Show Color Percentage" option to display the percentage of each color in the icon. The final block of options allows you to obtain the color palette in a textual format. Get Average Colors from a Gradient Icon
